The activities of DESIRE INDIA are focused on creating awareness among the target community; thereby realizing the rights of the individuals/groups are made possible.
Major Focus on the Rights of Children :
Desire India focuses on the four basic rights of the children: These were defined in 1989, by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child,
an International human rights treaty to which 191 countries, including India are signatories.
The target group is the construction and sanitary workers living in different slums, urban setups of Chennai beyond the Chennai City limits under the Municipal Administration.
The Construction and Sanitary workers have to leave their houses early in the morning to go to their work and returns at 5. P.m. in the evening.
